Saluda Elementary School has been recognized as a 2012 National Blue Ribbon School.  Saluda School is one of only 269 schools across the nation to receive this special recognition.

In presenting the award, US Secretary of Education Arne Duncan stated, "Schools honored with the National Blue Ribbon Schools award are committed to accelerating student achievement and preparing students for success in college and careers.  Their work reflects the conviction that every child has promise and that education is the surest pathway to a strong, secure future.”

"I am so proud of the entire Saluda community for this outstanding achievement", said Polk County Schools' Superintendent Bill Miller.  "Congratulations to the students, teachers, parents, staff and community. Saluda School is a special place for students, due to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved with the school. Their commitment to all students in the school is a fabulous example of what public education is about."
